The delicacy of soto gempol has been known to the people of Karawang since the 1980s thanks to H.Abdul Syukur and Hj. Fatimah, the owner of well-known local restaurant. The variety of soto you can taste on their restaurant are soto ayam (chicken soup), soto daging (meat soup), and soto babat (tripe soup).
